Michigan lawmakers trying to hem in fact checkers

Understandable why fact checking might upset them. But there is the little problem of the First Amendment (a mistake, though, to expect a Republican lawmaker to know his country's laws), let alone the problem of when a "fact" isn't or really is a fact. We've reached a point in our awful politics where facts can be what you want them to be.

Garbage piece.

And *facts* have always been what people wanted them to be.
 
It is bizarre. Republicans demand the "right" to tell whatever lie they want, but then also demand the truth be carefully controlled.
