Mitt Romney's Vietnam?!!

While America's less fortunate sons were dying and fighting off insects and disease in the jungles of Vietnam, Mitt Romney was holed up in a posh Parisian mansion described by a fellow inhabitant as a "palace." Located in the French capital's ritzy 16th Arrondissement, the mansion featured large stained-glass windows and a permanent chef, as well as a house boy. While other young American men were dying and suffering all manners of privation in Vietnam.

Mitt Romney has the audacity to claim that during this time of struggle for him in the wilds of Paris, he often "longed for the chance to be (in Vietnam)." Sure he did.

Ann Romney seems to have inherited the family nerve through marriage. Although none of her five sons have served in either of our country's two recent wars, Ann noted that Mitt and his military-averse progeny have "found different ways of serving."

Here is where the five Romney sons put in their time:

Tagg: Bordeaux, France
Matt: Paris, France
Josh: Leeds, England
Ben: Australia
Craig: Santiago, Chile

That sounds more like one heck of a vacation itinerary.

Now Mitt has the audacity to present himself as our potential Commander-in-Chief. His bellicose "tough talk" threatens to entangle our military in yet another conflict in the Middle East. He's fine with your sons and daughters dying, just not with any of his precious brood standing in harm's way.

There is nothing authentic about this man or about this family and they have no connection to the reality of the lives that our military families lead.

Mitt Romney protested FOR the war in Vietnam as a freshman at Stanford University and then spent the rest of the war finding every possible way not to serve. A man this inauthentic, this ready to gamble with the lives of everyone not named "Romney," this brazen or unable to reflect on his own cowardice - a man like this cannot be our Commander-in-Chief.

Ken, you get a lot of flak on here from some people but you served in Vietnam and know exactly what it was like. I went there last year and it is one of the most humid places on the planet, especially Saigon. I can't even begin to imagine being in the jungle carrying 50lbs on your back. I hope that you can share some of your experiences on here, I would be very interested.

And where was Bill Clinton during this time......
Has Obama served.....

The double standard is alive and will in Simplepukekenneth land......

Repubs heap scorn on people who actually served. See: John Kerry, Max Cleland, John Murtha, Wesley Clark for example.
