More evidence of Virginia's blueness...

I thought we were a democracy where the majority ruled? why is this AG not executing the peoples will?

We are a Democracy with limits on majority rule. The majority cannot enforce a law that is in violation of the Constitution. As I pointed out, the AG, said he will not defend the law, because it is in violation of the Constitution.

did the AG write the constitution, or did we the people?

Since when is it the Attorney Generals duty to interpret what is unconstitutional?

This is the new brave world of Liberal Progressive hypocrisy; a world where Presidents and AGs can pick and choose which laws they want to defend and enforce ignoring the will of the people...as long as it is "their" agenda that is being promoted.

Does it ever occur to you dunces that the shoe will be on the other foot one day? Consistency is not your forte'; nor is thinking.

Florida's Republican AG, is fighting to keep the marijuana initiative off the ballot. She wants to prevent the people from even voting on the issue.

'I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, protect, and defend the Constitution and Government of the United States and of the State of Florida; that I am duly qualified to hold office under the Constitution of the state; and that I will well and faithfully perform the duties of Attorney General on which I am now about to enter. So help me God.',

Oath of Office for Florida Attorney General.

The Constitution is the supreme law.

That wasn't the question counselor; where is it the AGs duty to interpret the Constitution?

Once again we see the dishonest effort of a hyper partisan to avoid the truth and deflect; color me shocked.

the civil and political equality of all men before the law, and that I will faithfully perform the duty of
Attorney General to the best of my ability. So help me God."

That wasn't the question counselor; where is it the AGs duty to interpret the Constitution and selectively enforce the laws of the State?

I thought this thread was about Virgina turning more "blue?"

I suppose that if the people of Virginia are all that upset by the actions of their AG, they can impeach him. If not... folks who don't live there probably should not be telling the AG there how to do his job.

show us where that is, because I believe that the AGs duty is to enforce the law, not interpret the constitution.

If the majority of a State passed a law banning private ownership of all guns, I would join you in my expectation that my Attorney General not defend that law, because it would be UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

They elected him, and will likely re-elect him, that's my point about the changing tide in VA. Next is North Carolina.
