The Labor Department said initial jobless claims for the week ended Nov. 10 rose by 78,000 to 439,000 from the previous week's upwardly revised 361,000 and was substantially above the recent trend of slightly below 370,000. Economists were expecting jobless claims of 375,000.

More from the highly right wing CBS...

nearly 50 million Americans, more than 16 percent of the population, are struggling to survive.

New figures released by the Census Bureau this week found a spike in poverty numbers last year, going from 49 million in 2010 to 49.7 million last year. The numbers may come as a surprise to Congress, which estimated in September that the poverty rate would drop to 46.2 million. One of the most startling findings showed that almost 20 percent of American children continue to live in poverty.

truly amazing that all of this just happened to come out after the elections...

Oh, and here's a big shocker: the same kind of Census report referenced in the CBS article was also released last year, for the previous year's stats. And get this - it was released....during the 2nd week of November!

Conspiracy!

It's amazing to you that a jobless report for the week ending November 10th came out after the election?

Are you date-challenged?

LMAO... no... that the one previous was revised upward. sorry, I forgot so many liberals on this board are incapable of reading comprehension.

Obama was pres. last year and the year before that, and the year before that....

Hes checking out the hoods in NY today.....someone must have finally told him about the storm...

One look at the ruins of sea coast in NY and NJ and the piles of garbage gives the pres. an idea.....:rofl2:

I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America,
by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and
the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim November 15, 2012, as America Recycles Day.

Yippppppieeeee!

Yeah, so strange that it was revised. It's not like that happens all the time. And this was a huge revision of 6,000! Conspiracy!

Here's another log to add to the conspiracy fire: the Census Department only began releasing the Supplemental Poverty Report (it's supplementary to the traditional poverty report, which was released in September, I believe) beginning in 2011 and it's a broader measure of poverty. Obama totally decided to do this supplementary report just so he could delay it until after the election.

Good stuff, bravo. So tell me - how did he benefit from working his magic to "delay" the census report until the 2nd week of November last year?

This is great.

New figures released by the Census Bureau this week, is what I read, why are you talking about last year....no wonder you're confused.

Any way, its not for me to explain, ...guess you should ask the person that posted it...I'm not reasonsible for someone else's words or opinions

I don't ask you to explain what another poster said.....

How come you didn't post the whole paragraph?

Oh yeah...because it explained the reason why the UE number spiked...

While it's considered to be skewed by the impact of Hurricane Sandy, Thursday's employment data was less than heartening. The Labor Department said initial jobless claims for the week ended Nov. 10 rose by 78,000 to 439,000 from the previous week's upwardly revised 361,000 and was substantially above the recent trend of slightly below 370,000. So the numbers were skewed by Hurricane Sandy...a pity the partisan hack who posted the OP couldn't be bothered to post the WHOLE story.

Why am I talking about last year?

Maybe because...you brought up last year?

Romnesia, baby!

Only because YOU implied last year had nothing to do with Obama's reign of incompetence.

and to be accurate....YOU brought it up in post 5........................................schooled again.

LOL - whatever you say.

Look, I'm not trying to be snarky here. If you can't read, just say so. I can work with that.

Did you miss this part, snark....
