I think they are looking for a reason to vandalize. Nothing at all wrong with them protesting. But there is no reason to vandalize and terrorize as a part of a protest as it simply detracts from the point they are trying to convey.

Given that they are still largely subsidized by the taxpayer makes it all the funnier.

I don't disagree that the baby boomer generation has fucked over the echo boomers in terms of their spend spend spend mentality. But again, their actions simply shout out 'I am a moron, with no respect for anyone, but would you support me anyway?'
 
I don't think its limited to the left. But I also think that the left's message carries better with younger people, who are more likely to commit acts of vandalism.

But there are incidents from the right as well.

Berlusconi is hardly a democrat, he acts like an old style Mafioso boss who is worth billions and has huge control over the Italian media. He makes Rupert Murdoch look like a paragon of virtue.
