The Ukrainian military demonstrated its prowess once again on Wednesday, when satellite images showed dozens of Russian tanks and armored vehicles destroyed after failing to cross the Donets River. The episode cost the Russian military an entire battalion – the latest sign that Russia’s pivot to eastern Ukraine is not working as planned.

“Recently, I have accomplished a mission which made huge impact on Russian losses and completely screwed up their plans to encircle Lysychansk,” a Ukrainian military engineer calling himself Max wrote on Twitter on Wednesday, giving a blow-by-blow account of how his company pretty much wiped out an entire Russian battalion a few days previously.

The satellite photos of its aftermath have been a sensation around the world. They show tanks, armored vehicles and other Russian military equipment destroyed and abandoned on the banks of the Donets River, which runs through eastern Ukraine from the Kharkiv region to the Donbas. The photos suggest the Russians lost between 25 and 30 armored vehicles in this operation.

There’s more reports of Russian officers refusing to follow orders from Moscow.

I’m still curious about who shot up the Russian oil depot last month. My money is still on it being Russian Hinds, not Ukrainian.

Russian parents, brothers/sisters, wives and children are being lied to daily by Putin’s television and radio. As tragic as those pictures are, the only information Russian parents are receiving are from the free countries of the West.

The West is also the only countries declaring the Russians to be committing atrocities and mass murder.

Would citizens of the Allies have believed the atrocities committed by the Axis powers if the pictures of those atrocities were not shown to the public? There are Holocaust deniers today who don’t believe the evidence. The Putin cocksuckers on JPP are denying the Russian atrocities despite the evidence to the contrary. Sane, honest people accept the evidence.

Putin says it was destroyed. The oddity is that, AFAIK, the Ukrainians never declared responsibility. There’s very little news on it too except from when it first happened. Russians may be shitty on the offensive but they are pretty good on the defensive. For two Ukrainian Hinds to penetrate one of the world’s foremost air defense systems is quite a feat and something for Zelensky to crow about if true. The fact he didn’t indicates to me the Russians are lying in order to cover up the fact it was rebellious Russian pilots shooting it up to slow fuel to their forces in Ukraine. No fuel, not advances.

The world may have to wait until the war is over to find out the truth.

A pair of Ukraine’s Mi-24 “Hind” helicopters have reportedly made a daring raid more than 20 miles into Russia, destroying an oil depot in the southern city of Belgorod on Friday, according to Russian officials and open source reports.
The governor of Russia’s Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, accused Ukraine of carrying out the attack in a Telegram post, Reuters reported. He said that the two helicopters entered Russia flying at low altitude, presumably to evade air defenses.

That's different than the news showing some person lying dead on the road, then quickly moving on to a story about the price of food or the Pope's birthday. It's not informative; it's exploitive.

Agreed. The reality of war should be revealed to all adults so they won’t be eager to enter into one.

When the Bush Administration wanted to start a war with Iraq it was supported by all the chickenhawks and opposed by the few combat veterans in the administration. Specifically General Colin Powell.

A similar problem occurred in the Trump administration when Generals Kelley and Mattis disagreed with Trump then were fired by Trump.
