Most comprehensive gun limits in US!!!

Would it be more acceptable if it was nine faces? Because that's essentially what Connecticut is saying, 27 deaths is unnacceptable, but nine is ok. They should either try to make a substantive change, or just admit that they're posturing.

Nobody said nine is okay, just that they reached the tipping point when those innocent babies were slaughtered. And I'm pretty sure that's how a lot of change happens, one too many tragedies/accidents/horrific events and people finally say enough is enough.

have you read the federalist and anti federalist papers? i have
as have I

the bit about slavery was a compromise between the northern and southern delegate
which part? remember, slaves were not considered people, but property.

the exclusion women was uncontested
and?

and no, the founding fathers were not gods, they did the best that they could to establish as free a nation as they could

that is why they put in the part about amending the constitution and we needed it and still do
agreed, so why do people continue pushing to have a court reinterpret instead of amend?

social change is happening faster than a lot of people are comfortable with and accelerating

maybe we will end up with more freedom, but i fear that we may end up with less
and that is exactly what the constitution was designed to prevent, from moving too fast and ending up with less freedom.

Then why stop at nine?

Jeebus, you guys are all morons. I made a statement that seeing the young faces makes me cry. I did not say anything about guns, nothing, nor did I comment on the legislation. I simply made a comment about seeing those little faces and knowing they are now dead. It still makes me cry because it is such a travesty.

It is still a travesty and it still effects me because I am just that type of person who has worked with children my whole life and I am compassionate.

It is all I intended. It wasn't to make anyone feel guilty about their stupid guns, but anyone who looks at those faces and doesn't feel emotion, well, there is something missing in your make up and I feel sorry for you.

we will all have to wait for scotus to rule on it, it will wind up there after all

I said nothing about guns, but all the nutter still have to attack, carry on.

I understand that. But the point of the thread was about the ban. We all share your views on the kids and the tragedy of their deaths. Forgive us if we thought you were making the same political argument for the ban that others have, because what you said is in line with why they want to ban the guns.

Great post Rana.

Apparently it was only enough to look like they did something, not enough to actually do something. Which proves what I've said all along. You guys don't care about the dead. You just want to look like you do. The only thing prevented by this law is law abiding people exercising their rights to do perfectly harmless and legal things. What a great thing to prevent. You should all make a toast, something like "on the backs of these dead children, we will punish those who harmed no one and had no intention of doing so. We have stopped nothing and are proud of it!"
