Vs swiftboat

i know that i am not happy about the play on petraus's name as i am not happy about petraus's 'testimony' or even congress

however, has moveon adopted the swiftboat groups (rove's) tactics

have they gone too far

have they gone just about far enough

have they not gone far enough

So only the right can utilize swiftboat tactics ?
How disgusting when the little people use the tactics of their masters...

It's called FREE SPEECH.

What MoveOn said in the ad was a correct assessment of the situation in the worst strategic blunder in American history, not the lies and distortions of the "swift boat" idiots.

I agree it was right on.

I would not have used it.

That is the big dilema for us Dems. The Rs have no problem being nasty as hell and we do.

I dont think there is a good choice here. We lose members when we act nasty and they gain members when they act nasty.

They benifit from the nasty factor and we dont. Its was what Rove figured out so well and used to his advantage.

It really sucks that stupid mean people have the advantage but the world just aint perfect.

The American people saw throught the Republican Muccakka in the 06 election. Let then try the politics of slime again in 2008 so the dems can beat that ass just as bad in 08!!!

Well Moveon was certainly within their rights of free speech.

I think Democrats who defend them have lost their right to bitch about the swiftboating of Kerry.

Desh is right on. The difference between the two was the Swifties' point was to castigate a man's service to his country, move-on's point is get those same men out of Hell.

Bullshit. If this wasn't an attempt to slander a man's service to his country then I don't know what is. You say you support it because it happened to agree with your politics this time.

Well that's fine. But don't get self-righteous about the swiftboaters. They had the exact same political reasons and justifications as you and Moveon for slandering the reputation of a decorated soldier.

Bullshit.

The democrats have every right to bitch about swiftboaters whose aim was to elect the worst motherfucking president in the history of Man .. with the end result of further entrenching this nation in the worst strategic blunder in American history .. which has resulted in an unprecedented loss of American influence, power, stature, and respect all over the planet as well and the deaths and wounding of tens of thousands of brave American man and women in uniform.

The aim of MoveOn was to get those very same troops out of Hell.

Those who have trouble with the distinctions aren't worth worrying about.

One newspaper ad, versus a muli-million dollar national campaign with TV commercials, books, and paid TV Punditry?

Hardly a comparison.
