Prosecutors have accused a former US Air Force officer of spying for Iran in an elaborate operation that targeted her fellow intelligence officers.

Monica Witt, who defected to Iran in 2013, had previously worked as a US counterintelligence officer.

Four Iranian citizens have also been charged with attempting to install spy software on computers belonging to Ms Witt's colleagues.

According to the FBI, Witt was last seen in southwest Asia in July 2013.

Witt had been granted the highest level of US security clearance and worked in the US Air Force from 1997 to 2008.

The US Department of Treasury has also sanctioned two Iranian companies - New Horizon Organization and Net Peygard Samavat Company - for their role in the plot.

The motivation for the marriage remains unclear. However, the evidence points to immigration and student loan fraud.

Omar has stated that she did marry "British citizen" Ahmed Nur Said Elmi in 2009.

Evidence -- from official archived high school records and corroborating sources -- strongly supports the claim that Ahmed Nur Said Elmi is indeed her brother.

Islamic Relief, which has chapters in 20 nations, has been branded a terror financier by the governments of the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

Russian authorities, the Swiss bank UBS, the British bank HSBC, and reports by governmental entities in Germany and Sweden all have determined that "Islamic Relief" has supported radical Islamist organizations such as the Muslim Brotherhood.

“East Zone Manager” Yousef Abdallah repeatedly promotes violent anti-Semitism. Abdallah praised as “beautiful” a story lauding a “resistance hero” whose work helped “kill more than 20 Jews.”
