My elderly neighbor has TDS

MAGA MAN

Let's go Brandon!
His anti-Republican rants have been going on for years, but really ramped up when the Hillbag lost. Last weekend I drove my classic car up, drove into his driveway and sounded the horn. He loves old cars and hasn't seen mine in a while. "Oh, here's the Trump car" was his greeting.

"How do you like the roaring economy?" His response: "Trump inherited it from Obama."

"How do you like the roaring stock market?" "It was great when Obama was president."

"Sam, you're 70 years old. For the first time in your life, the US is energy dependent. How do you like that?"

Turned his head half way through my first sentence. SILENCE.

No retort to the energy thing?

Why? it isn't true. The US Energy Information Agency says that if we ramp up energy production, we may be able to achieve it in the 2020s. If it happens, it is a result of years and years of managing energy and production. do you think Trump actually started with nothing and managed energy independence in a couple of years? It is silly.

LOL You wish it weren't.

As Of October 2018, The US Is Now Energy Independent

Look at the chart. Growth in production declined during The Obama well into the negatives, and instantly grew when Trump took office.

In two years Trump took us to from an energy purchaser to a seller. Gee, I wonder if that had any effect on the US economy. Do you have more money in your bank account if you are constantly buying something, or more if you are actively selling stuff?
:bigthink:

I have a cousin who is afflicted with TDS. It’s really funny watching her and her son go back and forth on Facebook. He's a Trump man. That’s him on the left after he won our Thursday night bass jackpot tournament. This pic ended up in the local newspaper.

I agree with your neighbor. Except I would have probably done this....

OU has nice leggies.

You "agree", big whoop. No retort to the energy thing?

I can remember in my lifetime when America was Energy independent.

It wasn't until the mid 50's we started importing oil, which just pissed off the Wildcaters, so they stopped drilling.

We could have always been energy independent had we started fuel economy cars much sooner and not ever started buying from the middle east to begin with.

I came of age during the Carter years; gas lines and rationing. "Set your thermostat to 68 degrees." In my first property I burned wood in the house and waste oil in the shop. Trump did in two years what no president has done in 50 years of promises. Empty promises.

Facts.org is as neutral as it gets. I know, I read it and weep sometimes myself!

EIA is a government source. Your article is dated June 2018 and discusses what Trump supposedly said. The Zero Hedge article uses the EIA data to show that the US became energy independent in October 2018.

I'm really only arguing some of Donald Trump's boastful claims.

In its 2012 World Energy Outlook, the International Energy Agency said the U.S. would become the top crude oil producer by 2020, largely because of technological advances that have made hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, a popular method to extract natural gas and oil from tight spaces.

We were already on target for being Energy Independent.

Again, Donald Trump walked into a pretty nice economy already on the upswing, and we were almost energy independent when he got the job.

Now if you want to fully credit Donald Trump for everything including the sun coming up in the morning- fine!

But Donald Trump is making claims that just aren't true about everything under the sun.

I'm really only arguing some of Donald Trump's boastful claims.

And I'm stating facts.

This is why you libs will never understand our support of Trump. You get your heads filled with crap from MSNBC and CNN all day long and they tell you that Trump said this, Trump said that, never in context and never with a proper retort from an opposing view.

The first thing I said when Trump rode the escalator was that this guy was a bully and a blowhard. My opinion of him has not changed. But he does what he says he's going to do and gets results. The fact that he upsets those with delicate sensibilities has no real bearing (but it is fun to watch liberal heads explode).
