I agree mostly with this. I think there is a tacit understanding that the timing of any indictments should a) wait for the select committee, and b) be bulletproof. The extra time is icing on the cake, but no one is trying to prevent that from happening. DOJ has tended to steer away from indictments close to an election, but indicting Trump and his advisors isn't really subject to that. He is a private citizen, and so are most of them.

Unfortunately, I'm less optimistic about 2022 and beyond. Voter suppression and worse yet, voter disenfranchisement is going to be the order of the day, and I'm very concerned about where that takes us.
