Bush Seeks New Image on Global Warming

By JOHN HEILPRIN

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush's call on Friday for a new fund to reduce global warming fell flat with Europeans and environmentalists who say U.N.-mandated cuts in greenhouse gases are what's needed.

To show he meant business, Bush designated his treasury secretary to talk to other nations about getting worldwide contributions to the fund. The money would pay for clean-energy projects in poor countries.

"This here was a great step for the Americans and a small step for mankind," Germany's environment minister, Sigmar Gabriel, said after Bush's speech at the State Department before representatives of the nations that are the world's biggest emitters of greenhouse gases. "In substance, we are still far apart."

In his speech, Bush acknowledged that climate change is real and that human activity is a factor.

Update: Associated Press

An Ohio man, known only as Dano DeMano, was found dead in his home early Monday, Oct. 1. Initial corner's report states overdose of koolade as the likely cause of death.

Ooooh Bush says that? Gee I better repent for all the scientific facts I posted that brought any sceptism to the notion of manmade global warming. After all I have my marching orders and the koolaid is pretty strong.

Here's a tip fucknuts, I don't like Bush that much, he's passed a giant social welfare pill bill, largest ever increase in education, spent like a Democrat, stupid Iraq war and now he thinks a good way to sound more likable (again) is to take up yet another popular Liberal cause in blaming man for global warming.
So what? Fuck Bush, he's a betrayal to far too much that right-wingers stand for.

Hmmm, maybe you are cut out for a career in the Liberal media after all...
I'll have to talk to your boss and have you doing more than just being "Coffee boy", but for now back to work bitch!

LOL, so why did you vote for him twice and used to praise him nearly as strongly as Dixie ?

Ohh I get it, it is now ok to not like Bush since he cannot run again...silly me...

"I don't like Bush that much"

LOL

Guess it's no longer convenient for Dano to like Bush...

Actually I never thought I would See the Day Onceler....

This shows how low Bush has dragged the Repubs. Along with Danos enthusiastic help of course.

Dano, this guy Lomborg, whose book is being reviewed in this piece, somehow reminds me of you.

THe whole article is really informative, but here is the paragraph that I think could be you and Lorax, with you playing the part of the fool, of course, in case there was any doubt? lol

"The IPCC report, to put it bluntly, eviscerates Lomborg's argument; maybe that's why he devotes but a single paragraph to it in the book, scoffing at "several commentators" who called the estimated reduction of 3 percent by 2030 "negligible." But though Lomborg will doubtless eventually produce a long disquisition on why he knows better than the 737 experts collaborating on the IPCC project, his bluff has been called. Consider the reaction of his old colleagues at The Economist, which only a few short years ago was underwriting his Copenhagen Consensus work. "Just as mankind caused the problem," the editors said, "so mankind can stop it—and at a reasonable cost." The 0.12 percent a year drag on GDP? "The world would barely notice such figures," said the magazine, hardly noted for its casual attitude about economic growth. Doubtless scientists and economists will spend many hours working their way through Cool It, flagging the distortions and half-truths as they did with Lomborg's earlier book. In fact, though, its real political intent soon becomes clear, which is to try to paint those who wish to control carbon emissions as well-meaning fools who will inadvertently block improvements in the life of the poor.

I'd like to see ONE "scientific fact" from Dano. Dano, you don't know the definition of EITHER word.

I'll gladly destroy any sad attempt you put forth to make said claim seem even remotely realistic.

Please, Dano. Show ONE argument attempting to refute "Greater Than Average Global Warming, as a result of human activity". I will easily show every "argument" as being nothing more than LOGICAL FALLACY...something you and those who are as gullible and/or dishonest as you, think suffices as a supported argument.

You have one thing on your side. There is an overabundance of idiots on this planet.
