Obese children have been taken away by social workers after being overfed by their families.

Professionals say families' over-eating can be one of the factors that leads to their children being taken into care.

In 2006, ex-Chief Medical Officer Sir Liam Donaldson warned that health chiefs would consider removing children from their families if they became super-sized, therefore risking their health.

The first reported case was an eight-year-old girl.

A group of senators sharply criticized a comedy bit during the broadcast of the Golden Globes that featured actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus puffing on an electronic cigarette.

Senators Dick Durbin, D-IL, Richard Blumenthal, D-CT, Sherrod Brown, D-OH, and Edward J. Markey, D-MA — called on the the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and NBC Universal to "take action to ensure that future broadcasts don't make light of the health risks associated with tobacco".

It's not tobacco. I can't believe how stupid these people are about water vapor with nicotine in it. There's a high likelihood that she was using one without any nicotine at all.

:rofl2:

I loved the false outrage from the democratic twits over e-cigs. No mention of the two drunk actresses walkiing on stage, one with a martini in her hand. With all the other problems we have, that is where they focused their attention.
