There Can be Only One!

I couldn't find one, so if this is a duplicate, hopefully @Damocles can merge them. It's 9/13 and I'm watching the Washington State Cougars get destroyed by UNT! The Huskies suck this year, they lost Penix Jr., a 2024 Heisman candidate to the NFL.

So - who do you think will win it all this year? It's early, but we've seen all teams play as of today. So I'm going to start a poll.

I picked Oregon. Voted with my heart. Right now they're getting creamed by Univ of North Texas! I used to live just a few miles of where they're playing now in Denton.

Rankings haven't changed much since Saturday. Ohio State, Penn State and LSU still 1,2 & 3. Can't believe there aren't any football fans here!

Wazzu might suck, but UCLA fans would love to be WSU right now.

Who do you think's going to take the championship in 2026?
I really don’t give a shit. College football is a pro sport now and I don’t pay any more attention to it than the pros. Ashton Jeanty got my interest a bit last year because I live in Boise. I’ll peruse the scores and upsets, but beyond that, I’m pretty uninterested.

I remember 20 years ago Boise State took the championship. I think it was over Oklahoma or Ohio State. One of the Boise State players proposed to his girlfriend after they won.

Yep. The Fiesta Bowl win over Oklahoma. BSU went for the 2 point conversion to win. I was at that game.
My niece graduated from Boise State and my nephew's going there now. I used to spend a lot of time in Boise. I had projects from Boise to Idaho City to Lowman, to Stanely and also up in Cascade.

All nice places. Lowman, of course, was devastated by fires a number of years ago and is not the Lowman of my youth. I worked in the Forest Service there when I was in college.

Stanley, of course, is one of the most beautiful places on earth

Yep, you worked on the Lowman Ranger District, of the Boise National Forest. A guy named Ken was the rec director in Lowman and a guy named Eric was someone I worked with over in Stanley. Stanley is on the Sawtooth NF, not the Boise, tho. I was there in the late 90's early 2000's after the fire as well.
