New chapter in the gun control debate

Michigan bill 5232 the 'Firearms freedom act'

http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(xkehohjj5j4gdl45myftac55))/mileg.aspx?page=getobject&objectname=2009-HB-5232

The jist of the bill is that any firearms or ammunition made within the state of Michigan will NOT be subject to federal laws and regulations, on the basis of the 9th and 10th amendments.

Use the military to occupy them if they refuse to comply. State governments do not have the ability to reinterpret the constitution willy nilly, especially for clearly politically driven reasons like this.

Tempest in a teapot.

Paraphrasing Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus' conservatard plan for USEDTAMPON911 - penis et circumciso (Is officina pro gratuities; or she works for tips)
:)

Re: Those neg reps. Why don't you post a list where they're coming from? You should wear them as a badge of honor. You should be proud if you've turned the knife in them to the degree that they made the effort to reward you.

LOL. "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to DNC again."

Glad you liked it. :cof1:

Most trouble is from ┐(´-`)┌. He's sent me some disturbing PMs too.

a worthless piece of legislation. the only way it can be enforced is if the feds prosecute someone for violating some federal firearms law and the state represents their citizen. otherwise, the feds will continue to ignore the constitution as they see fit.

The Republican's misapplication of the 10th amendment is pretty famous. Most recently, they tried to use it to say Obama addressing school children was unconstitutional.

I fail to see how a state regulating it's own products is a misapplication. Further more is that a number of these states are Democrat Majorities.
