The amount is a little puzzling....$1.7 billion ?
- FY2009 Obama administration has proposed around $130 billion in additional funding for the Iraq War and Afghanistan.
- FY2011 Obama administration proposes around $159.3 billion for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Thats about $280 billion alone.....

See, no outrage from any of the right, everyone of them, but Popeye, who I knew would make excuses and blame Obama.
You comment on ME but don't say a word about my post....why is that....
Obama spent 280 billion in these two years alone and you 're all excited about 1.7 billion that isn't accounted for....thats about .6 % of what Obama spent...
so whats the big deal....?
You're letting the far left bullshit on that site warp your already fragile brain.....chill out a little and watch Fox News for a week and make
another appointment with your shrink.....that should put you on the road to recovery.

I seem to recall that $23 billion was declared lost only a few years ago!!

How about you sticking to the thread topic instead of deflecting from the bush debacle.
How about you sticking to the thread topic instead of deflecting from the bush debacle.
Why ?....Rana ignores the topic and attacks me personally and gets a pass....I expect the same latitude, it called fairness....
1.7 billion is .6% of what Obama spent in just 2 years.....its peanuts....more money gets spent on Obama gold trips and AF1 vacations, whats the big deal....
and its probably a bullshit figure......I'd guess that the money lost to fraud in past 12 years is far far higher than this minute crap of 1.7 billion....
Bravo has argued dozens of times that Bush had little to do w/ Iraq - that he only invaded because Congressional Democrats forced his hand by "voting for war."

The story is talking about reconstruction, not the entire cost of the war. The Cost of War project saythe Department of Defense's direct spending on Iraq totaled at least $757.8 billion, but also highlighting the complementary costs at home, such as interest paid on the funds borrowed to finance the wars and a potential nearly $1 trillion in extra spending to care for veterans returning from combat through 2050.
Why doesn't it bother you that the cost of this war was kept off the books for years?

$757.8 billion ?
That makes the 1.7 billion dollars unaccounted for even more petty in context....
the United States spent $60 billion on reconstruction ........still, 1.7 billion unaccounted for is surprisingly low
Why do you say 'it doesn't bother me that the cost of the was kept off the books". Exactly how did you arrive at that conclusion so as to accuse me?
.....and exactly what does "off the books" mean in your mind.
Wrong. It means the article didn't address the costs unaccounted from combat, equipment, payroll, veteran health care, veteran disability, etc. And how can you just brush off the criminality that led to any money being unaccounted for? You said "surprisingly low", that doesn't make it acceptable.
What is 'wrong'.....I plainly posted, the United States spent $60 billion on reconstruction ........still, 1.7 billion unaccounted for is surprisingly low
which is absolutely correct...
Because I never once heard you criticize the cost of the war you supported.
Why would I criticized a war I supported ? Authorized by Congress in a bi-partisan vote.....
We borrowed money and financed the war entirely through debt at the same time people got tax cuts. There were supplemental spending bills. There was no shared sacrifice, bush's solution was for us to go shopping.
Whats your point ?.....we're still spending money in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan....and we're STILL borrowing that money...and people still got tax cuts, only this
time it was Obama 's tax cuts....and as for shared sacrifice, Obama's solution is for everyone to go on welfare, disability, workman's comp, or unemployment benefits...
There were supplemental spending bills.?.....Yeah, and continuing resolutions too....so what....
Thats exactly how the government has been operating all but one year of the Obama administration....I don't hear you whining about that...
Your crying about 1.7 billion lost in Iraq....?......well here is some more pissed away...............................by Obama, every year he's been in office.

Obama's requests for foreign aid in 2011 was
$3.9 billion for Afghanistan
$3.1 billion for Pakistan
$1.5 to 2 billion for Egypt
$68.7 million for Russia
$12.9 million for China
and get this
647.7 million to Nigeria
Keep in mind, this is just 2011 and we've been doling out OUR money to the world like this for decades, like we have an unlimited supply.
and your lossin' sleep over an unaccounted for 1.7 billion in Iraq....? (only because of Bush no doubt).....get over it.
