New signs of dementia...

Just last year at Christmas, at my Mother in law's house, I sat next to a lovely lady that I've known for years. This lovely lady got lost on her way over to her house, a house she's been to at least 5 times in the preceding two months as she is a good friend and a frequent visitor to my MIL. My BIL had to go and get her and his wife drove her car to my MIL's house.

As we sat down to dinner this lovely lady, who has deepening dementia, regaled me with a story. Then just minutes later with the same story. Then later in the evening she told me that same story. I listened raptly each time and exclaimed and "uh-huh'd" at all the right times.

My MIL notes that this lovely lady has some personality shifts, she gets angry easily, yells at folks... Such a shame. I may not see her again, probably won't really as she's since been put into a home.

the article said:
The White House on Friday sought to explain why President Biden repeated the same story to donors within a matter of minutes at a recent fundraiser, saying he was simply making clear to the crowd why he decided to run for the White House in 2019.

Two reporters asked press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre during a briefing about the episode during a New York City fundraiser Wednesday, when Biden explained multiple times how the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017, and then-President Trump’s response to it, spurred him to run for president.

I do not believe pResident Biden is capable of running his food schedule let alone this nation. He gets angry and yells at staff one of the users here used this one as a way to supposedly "prove" he didn't have dementia but anger issues is a sign of dementia, he has false memory issues repeatedly telling stories that we know to be untrue, sometimes even days apart, and now we see that cannot even remember he's regaled us with the same story he's telling just minutes after.

While I hope they wait until it is too late for the Dems to replace him effectively on the ticket before they try to make this right, I do hope they eventually do the right thing. This isn't an age issue, this man is showing serious signs of a deepening dementia. Shoot, my uncle suffered from this much younger than Biden. Illness is not age. Biden wakes up somewhere around 10 and puts a lid on it at noon, takes weeks of vacation to prepare for a 5 question scripted "presser" that he still messes up with fictional memories.

All this makes me wonder who really is running this mess? Because evidence seems to show that it can't be Joseph R. Biden Jr., each day we seem to have more evidence that he just doesn't have the wit left to do that.

Yeah getting lost going to places she had been multiple times and repeating the same stories within minutes were signs of my mother's dementia.

President Biden surrounds himself with many brilliant, experienced advisors who he consults with on a daily basis.

Trump relies on his 'gut'.

I rest my case.

Biden's always been like this. People were saying the same about him when he was VP.

I find it very doubtful he has dementia. It's a progressive disease, and if he's had it as long as many on the right claim, it would be much worse (imo).

Can we compare?

Trump has well known anger issues.
Trump repeats the same stories ad nauseam. Most are false, as well.
Trump had “administrative” time until noon. Every day.
We’ll add Trump being a walking stroke or heart attack.

Given that, Joe has slowed more than just a step. I don’t support him running again. With one exception. If he’s the only one to prevent another Trump presidency, then there’s no choice.

The government ran when Reagan was obviously out of it. So, Joe at the helm doesn’t bother me as much as Trump at the helm.

Meh, I’d still take him over Trump, no matter how many times he tells the story of why he ran.

That sounds an awful lot like Trump recounting how the election was stolen from him, getting angry and yelling.

My roommate in college used to repeat his old stories to people. We used to kid him about it. I doubt he had dementia.

This is much like watching my uncle go through this. It was painful. I really loved the guy. He was my Grandmother's brother (the one that adopted my father, this isn't in my genetics, well I wouldn't know if it was, alcoholism yes, Alzheimer's.. dunno) and one of the funniest folks I ever met. Watching his personality shift, his outbursts, his false memories that he would repeat because he believed they were real memories...

Watching someone go through this while they keep putting him in front of audiences, and watching as 37% of the nation makes excuses for this abuse, is nearly torture. Biden and I may not agree politically on many things, but I would bet that I would have liked him if I met him when he was functioning.

They have been alledging Dementia against him for at least 7 years now... I guess the disease progresses at different rates, but he would not be able to read a teleprompter 7 years in, from my experience.

If he has dementia I feel sorry for Joe, I really wish he and Trump would not be running for their party nominations.

If it is a choice between only two viable candidates, Id take a vegetable against someone who has proven a willingness to subvert Democracy to stay in power. Someone who has said he will appoint a yes man to the DOJ and someone who has called for suspending portions of the Constitution.

If Joe Biden is able to perform in a debate, Trump supporters are making a terrible mistake with the dementia angle.

But the corrupt egotistical pathological liar orange criminal who speaks like a slow third grader is just fine to lead America.

What makes you think Trump is any different? He’s 78, one burger short of three hundred, and has a history of gaffes and miscues, so how is he any different?

We already reported on this TS.

‘Cognitively impaired’? Trump’s confused attacks on Biden start to backfire

...he said Biden threatened to lead the US into “world war two – and suggested that he, Trump, thought he had beaten Barack Obama for the presidency back in 2016....

Alzheimer’s got my mom. She went through that “mean” faze. Unfortunately the family had never been around someone with Alzheimer’s so we didn’t know what was going on. She had always been super nice.

My mom first showed signs of Alzheimer’s at 66 - 68. She died at 86. :dunno:
