In NY, Apr 19th is gun rights lobby day. It just so happened that the half dozen new gun control laws that the state assembly put together were going to be voted on Apr 19th. Instead of meeting with their constituents to listen to their concerns about the bills, they quietly rescheduled the votes for Apr 18th and chose to hide out on the 19th.
