“Nearly 40% of contracts canceled by Musk’s DOGE are expected to produce no savings”

“Nearly 40% of the federal contracts that President Donald Trump’s administration claims to have canceled as part of its signature cost-cutting program aren’t expected to save the government any money, the administration’s own data shows.”

“The Department of Government Efficiency, run by Trump adviser Elon Musk, published an updated list Monday

“It’s like confiscating used ammunition after it’s been shot when there’s nothing left in it. It doesn’t accomplish any policy objective,” said Charles Tiefer, an expert on government contracting law. “Their terminating so many contracts pointlessly obviously doesn’t accomplish anything for saving money.”

And seeing that figure is coming from Musk himself, given his already busted “reporting”, it is probably more like 85% to 90%

So your saying 60% will produce savings. Thanks.

So, you're saying that over 60% of them will produce savings? I like those odds.

DOGE—tasked with trimming federal spending—has more than doubled its budget already, disclosures show

Isn’t it ironic.

I wonder what the cost of defending lawsuits will be.

Seems Elon isn’t being very efficient.

So you smear shit around then say " See, we told you it would smell"

One of the first steps for an authoritarian state is to control the media. Traditional media is dying. I can't tell you the last time I read a physical newspaper but it's been at least five years. Most people are getting their news online. This is why CNN recently downsized their traditional cable platform for a digital one. Same goes for newspapers.

Notice who the oligarchs who are supporting Trump: they are all digital media billionaires. Notice the controversy about TikTok and Musk's solution: He wants to buy it.

An authoritarian state doesn't have to control all of the media, just most of it. If they control the Internet, they have achieved their goal.

A recent example of Trump's power over modern media is pressuring Google to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and blocking AP from Oval Office press conferences for refusing to do so.

Why would you think it is OK to claim that you are cancelling contracts when you are doing no such thing.
Contracts that ended in 2024 are not being cancelled by DOGE but DOGE is claiming they cancelled those contracts. How gullible are you TOP?
Ok...why is it not ok to make sure that dead end contracts are not renewed if they're already cancelled...
I'm simply referring to what is stated in the OP where it mentions dead end contracts..
This clean up...this renovation...this remaking....this repair...this revamping...is necessary...

Poor anchovies,
So you agree that 60% will save you money? That is what is referred to as WINNING!
I originally stated that 10% would get a good start, you have upped it 6X. Thanks for the update.

Cancelling a contract that ended isn't preventing any new contract. How gullible are you?

So 40% will produce no savings, which means 60% will produce savings right? Simple math, but I know math is hard for some leftists
