No 'justice for Jordan' cries from the left?

IF OBAMA HAD A SON...

A white software developer is about to go on trial in Florida in the death of a black teenager — in a case that raises comparisons to the George Zimmerman-Trayvon Martin case.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday in the trial of 47-year-old Michael Dunn.

Police say Dunn fatally shot 17-year-old Jordan Davis in 2012 outside a Jacksonville convenience store after arguing over loud music that Davis and his friends were playing from their SUV.

Dunn says he fired multiple shots into the SUV after the teens threatened him and one raised a shotgun. Dunn was arrested the next day.

The important distinctions to make here are that George Zimmerman wasn't charged with anything right away, and Trayvon Martin was unarmed. Perhaps the left is reasonable enough to recognize these distinctions, hence not as much outrage?

What are your opinions on the matter BM?

Perhaps.

Except there's this:

Maybe the left is suffering poutrage fatigue after their repeated failure to convict Zimmerman of something/anything?

Fatigue? Lol, I would think that if the scenario were exactly the same, the results of the Zimmerman trial would only make the "left" more determined this time around. However, this situation isn't the same.

So Davis deserved to die, but Trayvon didn't?

Wow, what an asshole question to ask. Let me respond like you normally do:

Did I say that either "deserved to die"?

Thank you for finally asking me what my opinion was.

Zimmerman's right to defend himself was justifiable given the circumstances at the time, and the court obviously agreed. Due process occurred, the trial happened, take that as you may. I wouldn't call Martin's death "acceptable", which is why I'm glad a trial DID occur and they didn't just let Zimmerman go his merry way after they questioned him the night of the shooting. The trial was about the shooting itself and not who started what by getting out of their truck, or looking suspicious, so by itself yes, Zimmerman was exercising his right to self defense. Also, its funny that you say the "left" is trying to get him convicted of something/anything. It's not "the left's" fault that he keeps doing stuff to get himself arrested.

With this Davis case, the media might not get involved as much because due process is already starting to run it's course. The authorities didn't just let Dunn go after questioning him for a while, and unless evidence of a gun in the SUV pops up, the notion of a "self-defense" defense might look shoddy at best. Less controversy over how the case is handled, less big media exposure, the less chance people might read into any kind of possible racial aspect of the case, less people calling for justice 4 Jordan or what have you.

Good answers. Thanks.
