Obama Campaign Hawks Birth Certificate T-Shirt

President Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign today started selling “Made in the USA” t-shirts featuring images of both President Obama and the long-form birth certificate he released copies of last month.

“Wear your support for this campaign with an official Made in the USA T-shirt,” his website advertises. Donate $25 or more today and we'll send you your limited-edition shirt.

Coffee-mugs are also available.

“Remember ‘fight the smears’ from the 2008 campaign?” asked campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt. “This is the mobile version of it.”

“Fight the Smears” was an Obama campaign website from 2008 that attempted to refute untruths about the campaign, such as the claim that then-Sen. Obama was a Muslim.

what is also funny is obama's comments about the issue:

"We do not have time for this silliness," Obama had said in his televised comments, calling it a distraction from the real issues facing the nation. "We've got better stuff to do."

apparently he does have time to to keep the silliness going and he does want to continue making it an issue....

Right...and it's silly because it's Obama and his staff who are PERSONALLY purchasing, screen-printing and shipping out the T-shirts...

Obama certainly wouldn't leave it up to his staff to have a manager select some low level staffer to hire an OUTSIDE COMPANY to take care of this so he and his people don't have to deal with it, now would they?

Naaaaaaah, they wouldn't do that.

Nice to see Yurt is able to maintain his civility and not resort to petty personal shots at the president...

and your post makes zero sense. it is not a cheap shot at all. it is the truth. obama said we don't have time for this, there are more important matters to focus on....yet...he is focusing on the issue and keeping it alive by CREATING the merchandise for his campaign.

Gee, I didn't see the quote from Obama in the article where he claimed to be intimately involved with this whole T-shirt printing and sale idea...maybe you could highlight it for me?

Obama isn't "focused" on these T-shirts as you claim...the only people focused on them are his detractors...which is how I knew I'd find your name attached to this story when I first read about the shirts.

then your claim is that obama is not in charge of his campaign....??? is this right? obama did not give the go ahead for this campaign tactic? obama did not give the go ahead to keep the birther issue alive and well? the issue was virtually out of the news until obama decided to start selling this merchandise. but it seems as if you believe obama is not in charge of his campaign....what a weak leader if that is what you believe.
