As we all know, the US is the last advanced democracy to get a national health coverage entitlement. Sabotaged at birth by an opposition which sincerely believe that medical insurance is not a constitutionally legitimate federal expenditure, our Affordable Care Act has staggered and stumbled for years now and remains in place as the decisive battleground dividing our two political parties in their war with each other over what kind of America we are to have. Do we wish to go back to the once-great America again or do we wish to catch up with our peer nations using the programs of Sanders and Warren? The November elections will decide which direction we will take for the next two years, but the fight will far from over and Washington will continue is back-and-forth wrangle for some years to come.
