As I read through the Obama-praise threads today, it occurs to me, the odd glow of military victory looks really strange on liberals. While they seem to be falling all over themselves to praise Obama for this accomplishment, they take the time to warn us righties from daring to make this "political" ....no sir.... we are supposed to join them in genuflection toward the wonderful messiah and what he has done that Bush couldn't do.
Some have even gone so far as to proclaim preemptive victory for Obama in 2012... we may as well cancel the elections, according to their way of thinking here. But... that's not really make this political... we should just ignore that line of thought entirely!
Instead, let's focus on how Obama's plan was brilliant, and he is a much greater leader than Bush ever was... and he knew exactly how to do this, and oh... I am breathless now... I can't think of words to describe how wonderful Obama is for doing this great thing!
But what is so bizarre, is the amnesia being suffered by the left, in not remembering it was policies of the Bush and Clinton administrations, which ultimately led to this operation. It was the "covert ops" approvals granted by congress to the president, which liberals staunchly opposed and condemned. It was the intensive special forces training and flawless implementation, which was certainly planned out and practiced for years, as the left sought to cut funding for such things, as they opposed military actions such as this.
It's indeed an odd glow now being cast on liberals, who have forgotten how they co-opted Afghanistan into their protests against Iraq, as Iraqi operations naturally wound down. We get to see them basking in this glow of something they were totally not responsible for, while trying to spin this into a political plus for Obama, and daring anyone to object to their politicizing, by accusing others of politicizing. Refusing to share the glow with anyone else, especially President Bush. And in this odd glow, they will unfurl the flag and begin to wave it, as patriotic Americans, who have always stood for justice and vindication for the victims of 9/11, the war on terror, and going after alQaeda leaders.
