Okay, so the "red wave" comes to pass, and with the help of the SCOTUS, abortion now becomes a total state decision with all that entails. So let's speculate:

- Your mom, grandma, sister, cousin, wife, girl friend, good female friend is raped to a 3 week coma status. She is hospitalized, and later diagnosed as pregnant. The state she lives in and where the rape occurred outlaws abortion. So the aforementioned woman goes to drive to a state that does. Unfortunately, she's stopped at the state border by a trooper who asks the nature of her trip. He runs her I.D., and finds her pregnancy in the database. He informs her that if she returns to the state and is not pregnant, she will be arrested and jailed for the crime of abortion induced murder. Subsequently, the person(s) who drive her to and from the procedure is arrested and prosecuted for aiding and abetting a murder.


I WISH this was far fetched, but all one has to do is pay attention to the current declarations and rhetoric of Republican politicos and their media sycophants. :|
 
They're just saying that shit to whip up their base. "Base" is an excellent descriptive word for those people, btw.

Fact is we free states will be there for those needing medical care because they live in would-be slave states. The saddest thing about this is that this kind of thing makes us the disUnited States rather than the united former nation our Founders envisioned.
 
There is a consequence to living in a shithole state.
I wish those of us in the free states could help whatever decent people live in those shithole RED states, but it will be hard.

Once partition takes place, they will have to either leave as refugees or accustom themselves to dystopia.

And if partition doesn't take place, our best hope is for an asteroid to smash into this planet and destroy it totally.

Life has no absolute value. It must be valued in qualitative terms. There will be no quality of life without radical steps being taken now.

I'd rather the asteroid to being forever tied to the Red states.

Yeah, but the asteroid would have spill over damage to the free states. Maybe some benevolent aliens to come and take sides?

I was thinking of an asteroid that would destroy the entire planet.

Life forms on this orb have not really distinguished themselves. i suppose some dogs and cats are ok, but after that? Not much about which to brag.

Politicians have suggested that after Roe was overturned. Suggested that they have to be checked at borders.

Yep. Missouri is one such state that will criminalize going across the border to Kansas or Illinois to get an abortion. How are they going to check that? Give everyone a pregnancy test before they can drive over the bridge?

there was a 100 car pile up in Colorado yesterday......reminds me of the lib'ruls in this thread who've apparently smashed into the rear end of these women driving across state lines for an abortion, stopped by these mythical state policemen intent on arresting them......
