Representative Anthony Gonzalez, one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump, is the first of the group to retire rather than face a stiff primary challenge.

Mr. Gonzalez is the first, but perhaps not the last, of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Mr. Trump after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot to retire rather than face ferocious primaries next year in a party still in thrall to the former president.

He has young children...the commute is too much...
It's nice to see him put his family first....
 
Not sure if true, but I read that Paul Ryan got out of DC because he didn't know how to work w/ Trump and didn't want to.

Replacing people like that - who had common sense and knew policy inside & out - with the Marjorie Greens of the world is going to have long-term ramifications that are hard to speculate on at this point. But it ain't good.

I am with you on that. What do you think the odds are he would win an election running with the Democratic Party of the Jackass? I am thinking ZERO. Much like his chances of running as a RINO. ;)

It’s a shame. This guy is the type of Republican they should vote into it Rice, instead they like guys like Cawthorn.
