Oil wars, why is anyone suprised ?

There has been talk about future oil wars for many years. Why does most people seem to be in denial about the Iraq war being in root cause an oil war ?

I don't think the oil wars are going to be military in nature. For the most part. Iraq is an exception.

Its already going on, and it is a geopolitical contest involving economic, political, and diplomatic power. That's the field its going to be waged on.

The chinese already buying up oil companies, and establishing strategic relationships with petroleum producers in south america and africa. While George Bush has been pissing of the entire planet, china has quietly been working their strategic and economic relationships with oil countries.
