well a lot of people were mad at me and took my words out of context at the meeting from last week. I told them last week that i was against the spending for the senior center, i was met by seniors who construed things i said (all mainly republicans) where i said i wanted them to die, that i equvolated them to dog's etc. it was quite comical as i def defended my positions. the town of enfield donated 4million to build it, and is funded by the towns taxpayers. I basically only said i was just against the senior center. not that i wanted them to die, etc. that i was against spending such a huge amount of money for the good of only 14% of the town. they are dillusional. so then people were sayign they were against 'feel good' bills. and i partially agree with him... i am against a feel good bill to pay money to repair the flooring of the senior center. the truth is that this doesn't cost the residents anything as it will be done through fundraising. Then you shoulda heard these old people talking about "the mexicans moving into town... etc.... i couldn't make this stuff up....

ohhhh no lol i apologized. Im not an idiot. I humbled myself after arguing and caved. however the town manager is having a meeting with some people about the dog park today.
what you should have done is to provide examples of other town around CT that have dog parks and how the operations work for it. You should accentuate the positive of dog parks. Show pictures of old people brining there grandkids and there dogs to the park. Your an MBA for god sakes.
who wudda thunk... that was my point, then they were all there crying river about taxes and them becoming homeless...one guy even told me that the majority of seniors didn't vote for the center... LOL are you kidding me?? who would vote for it then?? kids?? 18 year olds?? who?

My town has a multi-million dollar senior center that is light years better than any other public building in town, and we have a tax payer-subsidized, nearly-free shuttle service - basically a glorified taxi service - that will come to a senior's house anytime they want, and take them anywhere they want, for virtually free.

yes they should get their social security. that was the deal. and there age they will start receiving or amount they were promised should not change.
I advocate putting a donut in between like 75K-200K no SS taxes.. then taxes again starting back up at 200K. this should solve the problem. Or if you like. reduce it to like 3% and just have it run from 0-infinite.. this would be tax cut for poor no change for middle class. tax increase for rich.
