I could be in favor of open borders IF, the only people coming across the border were good folk just wanting to work, be personally responsible for themselves and their families, and wanted to assimilate into American society and learn to speak English, and strive for the American Dream. But in the name of sanity and common sense, I have to reject and oppose passionately any such notion of supporting an open borders policy when the immigrants wanting to cross the border are infiltrated by MS13 thugs and gang killers, drug runners and human traffickers and my country by way of a gang of political morons, thieves and crooked vote buying bastards has created a social welfare system to attract all comers, sanctuary cities to hide the criminals and politicians that ignore and oppose federal immigration law and even are attempting to abolish the immigration cops that arrest and deport the scumbags that violate Americas laws, feed off of the welfare system and even murder American citizens.

I don’t really much care if the violent scumbags among the good folks are a small percentage of the total. It’s factual that they’re being protected by American idiot politicians that create sanctuary cities and states it’s also factual that even the good folk among them are overwhelming the social welfare system. Our forefathers and mothers came from allover the globe long before there was a social welfare system, They assimilated quickly, they were self supporting, they worked hard and learned English they became Americans. The crooks and killers among them were arrested, jailed and deported or executed or died in the slammer. They suffered through poverty and discrimination and became stronger and more successful in spite and because of it.

Today’s world requires the withholding/abolishing of all federal money sent to sanctuary cities and states. It requires an American Congress committed to overhauling America’s immigration policies YESTERDAY! It requires federal criminal actions/prosecutions be taken against any politician that prevents or hinders the border and immigration officers from preventing illegal entry into the country and the arrest and jailing and deportation of illegal immigrants. And it absolutely requires BUILD THE DAMNED WALL!!!!!

I wasn’t talking about the Pilgrims or the colonies before the revolution, but rather the 1800's and early 1900’s. We had a Congress an immigration system, federal money and even a standing army. No fence around mine either, but it is protected by S&W and Colt (also a Remmington 1100 in the closet). I'd prefer our borders protected by the same, but most would say that is inhumane.

That said, there are places a wall would be sufficient to free up the use of tech and manpower. Most who oppose the wall and border security have never visited the border or spoken to those who protect it. Add to this his economic policy of restricting free trade, and we have someone who is essentially a protectionist. Thus, his strategy appears to be similar to that followed by China and other countries that employed mercantilism.

The problem is that the U.S. dollar is the global reserve currency, which means the economy operates through the opposite of mercantilism and likely because of the Triffin dilemma.
