Anyone know anything about installing the .net framework over wine? Erm It's not working for me, many google searches have suggested that wine CANNOT install .net, but there are other solutions out there. What is with this mono crap? Please advise.

I should have been more clear. Basically I am looking for a .net alternative. Probably only one of you has the answer.
ruby on rails is cool but I don't need .net for development purposes. I just need it for the execution of certain programs.

yeah I've already installed mono it's still not working and Im thoroughly pissed.
Perhaps you should lay off the jesus juice you alcoholic. Then maybe you'll get some clarity and be able to install it.

You can actually install .net under the recent versions of wine.
However, must programs don't work under it.
WM's suggestion? IM me. I'll hook you up with a Windows 2000 bootleg CD.
BTW, are you running linux? Or DarWine?
