Hamas military commander Mohammad Deif said in a statement that Saturday’s attack was retaliation for Israel’s “desecration” of Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem – Islam’s third-holiest site, which is controlled by Israeli security forces.

Deif also blamed Israel for killing and wounding hundreds of Palestinians this year alone, and for refusing offers of prisoner exchanges with the group.

The low estimates im hearing are 40 Israelis killed/captured. The high estimates (mostly from al jazeera /hamas sources) put it at 200.
 
Jewish civilians killed in the streets and in their cars female IDF soldier raped.. Many soldiers and civilians captured and taken off to Gaza.

Muslims dragging dead Jewish women and children through the streets while celebrating in their 7th century style.
