Seven weeks from right this minute, it will be Christmas Eve. Seven weeks! Can you believe it? So we have opened the BillOReilly.com Christmas/holiday store, which features an incredible array of great gifts. And with every order, we'll send you a "Don't Taze Me, Bro" bumper-sticker free! And we'll gift wrap for you for over $40.

And most, importantly, your purchases at the Christmas store will mean hundreds of thousands of dollars to charity, including helping our military people and children. So, everybody who buys stuff on BillOReilly.com is a patriot! — And you can see some of the charities we support on the Web site, as well.

Why did my favorite tv station stop playing old school rap and start playing chirstmas music?

They did it Nov. 2nd. Beat's your boy O'Reilly by 4 days.

I'm surprised he's not talking about Fort Collins, CO and their ACLU thing about the Christmas trees...

It was the adaptation of classical Greek and Roman as well as pagan cultures that allowed early Christianity to spread beyond the initial Jewish converts. Remember that. The Jesuits tried to do the same thing in China in the 17th-18th Centuries, but the Dominicans and Franciscans came in and screwed it up...

Yeah, that was one of the weird things I noticed about Catholic ideology whenever I was reading "Dante's Inferno". He'd often reference pagan mythology like it really happened. Like, one person ended up in eighth circle of hell for blaspheming against Zeus. I would've thought they would've considered stuff like that back them heresy but they were apparently very content with it.

Well, really, the poem is allegory. But it as still odd.

I don't doubt it. Also, consider that aside from Judas, the two other traitors at the center of Hell were Brutus and Cassius. Attitudes toward Brutus have since changed, and he is generally considered noble for trying to save the republic from tyrants like Caesar becoming emperor. Granted, there is still the occassional young brat, like the kid in Emperor's Club who proclaim that "Brutus was a pussy!"

He was probably using Zeus as a name referring to the one true God. This would appeal to former Greek pagans who could excuse themselves for confusing the other characters as gods/goddesses when they were merely angels and so forth...
