Ouch

We can't have every prosecutor in the thousands of prosecutors in the country going after the president. That would paralyze the country.

1. Your #MalignantMessiah is not the president.
2. Your #MalignantMessiah is a citizen just as you and I are and is not above the law.
3. In this country, we require elected officials to take an oath to uphold our Constitution.
4. Your #MalignantMessiah broke that oath and broke laws both state and federal.
5. Only fascists want a system where a leader can willfully break laws and walk off scott-free.
6. Even preschoolers know that actions have consequences.

Great ideas, one and all, Owl!!!!
We should be running you instead of Scranton Joey.
You're only seventy!!!

Thanks but no thanks!

It's hard to believe that there are people in this country who think that a pregnant black woman accused of shoplifting deserves to die for not listening to police, yet a corrupt sexual predator who is trying to destroy the country shouldn't be prosecuted for his many crimes.

Trump was the President when the alleged crime occurred. She has no jurisdiction.

The crimes were committed in Georgia. Therefore, the state's attorneys general and prosecutors DO have jurisdiction. The same is true of Trump's crimes committed in New York.

How fascinating that you are in favor of allowing the federal government to interfere in state legal matters, particularly prosecutions. If a popular sports figure, musical artist, actor, TV star or the like is being prosecuted for, say, rape -- it sounds like you'd be fine with Congress stepping in to try to disrupt the trial and allow the accused to skate. You can't have it both ways, Beulah Mae. Either the laws apply to all, or to no one.

If, if, if, the Queen would be King if she had balls, guess “smy” didn’t know if designates circumstances in which an event or situation might happen, but didn’t happen

you can pretend it isn't an issue, but this board is full of 'IFs' by both left and right............you can't deny it and not look like an idiot.

Awwww...

A local persecutor is butthurt that someone is looking over her shoulder to make sure she's doing things right. Makes you wonder why she's so upset...

Would you want a Republican Congress setting school curricula?

School curricula wouldn't be set by congress.
It would be set by the US Department of Education.

The Secretary of Education would be a partisan-appointed cabinet member
but the department itself would be comprised of career professionals.

Who must follow the laws set by Congress. The DOE might write the specifics but have to follow the guidelines set by Congress. There are also Republican career professionals in DOE as we can see from some of the changes in regulations under De Vos

It is the opinion of many to trust local school committees
comprised of elected people with no education credentials at all.

I've witnessed that shit show as well.

”Georgia prosecutor excoriates Jordan for probe into Trump charges”

“The Georgia district attorney at the heart of former President Donald Trump’s latest indictment on Thursday rebuked House Republicans’ investigation into her office, accusing them of blatantly trying to obstruct a criminal proceeding.”

“Fulton County DA Fani Willis on Thursday sent a fiery letter to House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, responding to his decision to launch an investigation into the Georgia office”

“In the blistering, nine-page response, Willis called Jordan’s actions “offensive,” accused him of being “misinformed” and said it’s “clear that you lack a basic understanding of the law, its practice, and the ethical obligations of attorneys generally and prosecutors specifically.”

“Your attempt to invoke congressional authority to intrude upon and interfere with an active criminal case in Georgia is flagrantly at odds with the Constitution. … There is absolutely no support for Congress purporting to second guess or somehow supervise an ongoing Georgia criminal investigation and prosecution,” she added in the letter to Jordan.”

“The basic premise of your letter is wrong. The criminal defendant about which you expressconcern was fully aware of the existence of the criminal investigation being conducted by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office at the time he announced his candidacy for President. I have no doubt that many Americans are the subject of criminal investigations and prosecutions at any given moment,” Willis wrote.”

“An announcement of a candidacy for elected office, whether President of the United States, Congress, or state or local office, is not and cannot be a bar to criminal investigation or prosecution,” she added. “Any notion to the contrary is offensive to our democracy and to the fundamental principle that all people are equal before the law.”

Little Jimmy Jordan just got bitch slapped, and to add insult to injury, at the conclusion she told him as a non lawyer he could buy a copy of Georgia’s Rico laws on sale for $249, and then recommend he read it before making a bigger fool of himself.

MaraLago ain’t going to like that

Jordan is laughing his ass off right now.

Almost all states have designated elected or appointed boards to set state curricula requirements leaving some leeway for local districts to make changes or additions.

In Texas the state board discussion is like trading day in sports. "I'll give you Jefferson and Hamilton for two black and three Hispanic heroes."

A lot written about Texas requirements is misleading because local districts are largely free to choose their own textbooks and other educational materials, add elective courses, etc.
