It's time to seriously investigate the top echelon of the agencies of the USA that are tasked with the defense of our homeland. Something is very troubling here.

Why would something that was a threat to us use lights to tell us they were there?

That is a serious question. If it were a secret threat, wouldn't it hide its existence by not having lights?

The lights seem to be part of the design to let other airplanes know that it is there... The key part of that statement is "other airplanes." For the most part, these are not drones, but rather normal airplanes that have been in the sky for over a hundred years.
