JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Ever since Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin returned from the presidential campaign trail, many Alaskans felt her heart wasn't in the job.

Lawmakers complained she didn't take an interest in the state's politics, and she limited her access to Alaska's media. One lawmaker quipped after her state of the state address in January that the only eye contact she made in the legislative chamber was with the television camera.

In Alaska, Palin has become a polarizing figure, and the focus of multiple ethics complaints filed against her with the state personnel board. She has taken a beating from Senate Democrats over many of her recent appointments, including an attorney general candidate who became the first Cabinet appointment ever rejected by the Alaska Legislature.

And things weren't likely to improve, if she stayed in office. She faces a potential veto override of nearly $29 million in federal stimulus funds for energy efficiency programs. She rejected the funds, fearing there were strings attached to the money that could bind the state to federal building mandates. Legislators said they could find no such strings.

Icetoetapper, you might want to read the last paragraph. The Alaska legislature could not find what you are claiming about the energy efficiency leglislation either :D

She's free, she's free .. free to be a celebrity.

What keeps the right-wing from just taking the honorable way out?

blaa blaa blaa..
at least Palin knew she had become more of a liability to Alaska what with the constant worthless ethics complaint she had to constantly fight, which I hope Alaska changes the law on..And she had the hostile Democrats in the legislature who didn't give on shit about the people in Alaska, just playing their same ole games that they always play...

So, the people in Alaska will judge Palins resignation, and the rest of you down in the lower 48, can just to go hell..you don't care about Alaska anyway, you only care now to use it as another hit piece on someone you don't like and are afraid of....

"and are afraid of"

Like I always say, she DOES scare me, because she's psychotic.

Her electoral prospects don't really frighten me, however...

LOL Yeah right a successful governor and the first possible woman president doesn't frighten you- you'd crap your pants if she ran for Prez, shit drawers and be running down both legs. LOL

So you admire someone who quits half way through their job when the going gets tough?

You admire people who run away from hard work, leaving the mess for other people to clean up?

I’ve never heard of a Governor in recent history quitting halfway through their first term, unless they were appointed to a top Federal cabinet position, or unless they were facing criminal indictment or ethical problems.

Can you explain why you and other republicans admire her for quitting her job? What is it that you admire about quitting when the going gets tough?

oh for gawds sake...many a Democrat politician have QUIT positions to move onto something else...or have had to QUIT over scandals..lots of those..
unlike you idiots who are trying to turn this into something you can use against her, we all can see and understand the reasons she gave for it..
and what mess is this you seem to know so much about? do you live in Alaska?

you all can keep spouting out the she quit, abandoned, etc, etc....who cares..it will not stick as you all wish it to, and you will see that once she gets back into the campaign trail....Enjoy that..

And why shouldn't I admire someone who does what they think is best for their state...
a lot of people still ADMIRE the Billy boy Clinton for not resigning after he got caught having his knob slobbered while President...
