Palin went to Canada for health care ???

Sarah Palin (R-Publicity Whore) who has gone to great lengths to hype the supposed dangers of a
big government takeover of American health care -- admitted over the weekend that she used to get
her treatment in Canada's single-payer system.

"We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada," Palin said in her first
Canadian appearance since stepping down as governor of Alaska. "Isn't that ironic?"

The irony, one guesses, is that Palin now views Canada's health care system as revolting: with its government-run administration and 'death-panel'-like rationing. Clearly, however, she and her family once found it more alluring than, at the very least, the coverage available in rural Alaska.

I guess there was no room to write, "America has the best health care system in the whole world," on the palm of her hand.

She was 6 years at the time you desperate stupid asshole..

but I love the picture....

It's been covered. Two threads already. She was six years old, dude and was born before the Universal Health Care was enacted.

Does not matter if she was 6 or 60, Canada had universal healthcare system at the time, cunt and she is against that type of system here!

It makes a huge difference if she was six or sixty. At the age of six, her parents make the decision, not her. Furthermore, they lived in Skagway. At the time, Whitehorse YT Canada was the closest town with medical facilities. Even today Skagway has only a health clinic. The population is around 900 hundred people, when Sarah Palin was six, it was probably less than 600.

Ultimately, she was SIX, the decision was not hers to make.

Would it be okay with you if we were to draw conclusions about you based on the decisions your parents made when you were six?

Another far left wing website TPM is also caught up in the lie:

Canada's single-payer health care system, known as Medicare, was established in 1966. Its principal founders were Tommy Douglas, leader of the social-democratic New Democratic Party and former Premier of Saskatchewan, and Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson of the Liberal Party. It had previously been implemented at the provincial level in Saskatchewan in the early 1960s, under Douglas's leadership.

At the time of Canadian Medicare's passage, Palin was two years old. You see, this is how the dishonest media works, they rely on the hope that you, the reader is stupid and/or lazy, and won’t do any investigating themselves.
If nothing else, Sarah Palin’s very existence and the media’s reaction to her, has shown us that we must fact check absolutely ever single story they produce, because chances are good they got it wrong.

Here's the truth: The establishment of the Medical Care Act of 1966 allowed each province to set up their own "universal health care" programs, much like the states are free in America to do whatever they want regarding this sort of thing. The key word being allowed. (not required)
Of course, we know that universal care has been a disaster for every state that has tried it in the United States. Think Massachusetts.

It wasn’t until the 1970's that Canada had any sort of nationwide "universal care" and it only covered in-hospital care. Doctor visits and other services weren’t covered.

It wasn’t until the Health Care Act of 1984 that Canada had what has come to be known as socialized medicine.

So Sarah and her family never "benefitted" from "socialized medicine." On the contrary, they received the same kind of quality care we enjoy here in America.

Oh, and her brother’s treatment and the two "different" stories? Pretty simple, the family sought emergency care in Whitehorse and the follow up care was done in Alaska.

Once again, in their effort to smear Sarah Palin, the corrupt media proves just how worthless and lazy they are. Or maybe they know the truth about Canadian health care, but choose to lie about it to fool their mind numbed readers.

Hard to tell.

One thing’s for sure, with the progressive movement going down in flames, the media is grasping at absolutely anything to make it all stop. Unfortunately, for them, it’s not going to!

This. I pointed it out earlier. She was born in 1962, at six she moved from the town near the border, in 1971 or so is when some form of Universal Care was obtained on a national basis rather than simply "allowing" provinces to create something. So, she moved before this national universal care started to make health care unobtainable on a timely basis in Canada...

In addition to this proof that there was no universal care during this time period where the Palin's lived, we are told by lefties, that her parents needing emergency services that were closest to where they lived equals that Sarah the adult is a hypocrite? :palm:

Found this on another site, simple explanation, even for liberals.

Whitehorse has a population of over 20,000

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitehorse,_Yukon

Meanwhile Skagway has a population of 862.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skagway,_Alaska

Whitehorse is the nearest town of any size to Skagway.

Juno is about the same distance as the crow flies, but there is no road to Juno.

Given that it makes sense that Palin's parents would have driven to Whitehorse to see a doctor.

It is called Google liberals. Learn how to use it, you fucking retards.
