Park Romney: Why he turned against the Mormon church

I am watching this now, Park Romney is a very plausible witness to the Mormon Church's darker side. If Mitt Romney is elected then the presidency will just become part of the Mormon empire, he will do what is best for them first and the US second.

The history of the church is very disturbing, but Mormons are not allowed to read about it.

wasn't pretty much the same thing said about Kennedy? That he would put Church ahead of State?

The above is just fear mongering bigotry.

Along with other ex-Mormons, he questions founder Joseph Smith's prophecies - for example Smith's translation of an Egyptian scroll, part of the Mormon book of Abraham, which Egyptologists say is a fraud.

There's compelling evidence that the Mormon Church leaders knowingly and wilfully misrepresent the historical truth of their origins and of the Church for the purpose of deceiving their members into a state of mind that renders them exploitable," says Park.

Such accusations are rarely heard in the US, a nation founded on the principle of freedom of religion.
"It's not something you're supposed to talk about," says Prof Robert Putnam of Harvard Kennedy School.

Shhhhhh, you'll get in trouble with the church...:nono:

I got this book a few years ago because it was true crime. The author also related the entire history of the Mormon religion, because it was relevant to the story. TBT, the religion part was even more interesting than the crime. Because it was so good I bought another Mormon-related crime story to read when I'm finished with my current book.

Is that what Harry Reid did as majority leader of the Senate....did he make the Senate a part of the Mormon Empire....did
he do what was best for the Mormons first and the US Senate second ?

Oh...never mind, its that double standard at work, again. Harry Reid is a Democrat; and as such can only be perfect.....

And I'll bet a good number of the sources cited in that book were from Wikipedia, the dictionary anyone can edit, correct?

If he were running for President it would be two strikes against him in your book.

Reid is not running for prez.

Irrelevant.....

But, you've gotta admit - he IS perfect, in every way possible...

Thanks for being candid.....

His Mormonism doesn't scare me.....his politics do......

We have had quite a variety Washington over the years.....and not one of them has ever tried to force their religious beliefs on the country

I see every religion as the same ...... groups of people brought together by their circumstances of their time.......
a leader of some sort emerges to nurture their common beliefs
and usually Jesus Christ gets his persona in the door somehow or another in every one of them

.....except for the Muslims, of course and some others..... different cultures travel a different road.....

I haven't seen Jesus in most Christianity in a long time, glad you found him there.

Did bravs just say he doesn't care what someone's religion is?

We were talking about Harry Reid and I said, "His Mormonism doesn't scare me, his politics do".......

Try reading the words I actually type, not what you imagine I type....
