march 13 2024 Earlier this week January 6 political prisoner Jake Lang sent out a request to supporters to call the Brooklyn MDC Prison and to rejoin him and Ryan Samsel to the same “non gang affiliated unit” at the Brooklyn Prison for their own safety.

Two weeks ago the Biden regime moved these too abused prisoners to Brooklyn from the DC Gulag.

Both men have faced unprecedented abuse at the hands of prison guards, Biden officials, and DC judges.

Jake Lang has been in prison for OVER THREE YEARS without trial. This is a serious criminal act that violates the US Constitution.

Jake Lang rescued Philip Anderson from death at the hands of police. Jake was not able to save Rosanne Boyland who died next to Philip Anderson that day.
No police officer was ever held to account for their actions that day behind the deaths of four Trump supporters.

"The Appellate Court referenced another Jan. 6 case, United States vs Munchel, in their ruling: “As we explained in Munchel, ‘those who actually assaulted police officers ... are in a different category of dangerousness than those who cheered on the violence or entered the Capitol after others cleared the way.’”

How can this happen in america with our constitutional guarantee to a speedy trial.? Democrats say illegals are above the law and conservative citizens below it.

When you have over a thousand people prosecuted for criminal activities on January 6 it takes a long time to arrest, investigate, and bring charges. A speedy trial is a relative term given the resources available.

It is not unusual for big cities to keep people in jail that long because if they can't pay bail they have to wait for their trial. Many plead guilty because their sentence will be shorter than the time they have to wait in jail and jails are too full to prosecute faster. That is why 90% of people convicted of crimes never go to trial but plead guilty.

Many plead guilty because they cannot afford the attorney fees to fight it out in court.

that's false. Most people who plead guilty rather than go to trial end up that way because the government overcharges with the intent of forcing a plea.

Not really. Overcharging is more likely to result in not guilty please because the defendant has less to lose.

Plea bargaining benefits both the prosecution and defendant. The prosecution gets a guilty plea without the time and expense of a trial. The defendant gets a set sentence rather than going to trial and risking a not guilty verdict versus a maximum sentence. If criminals were smart they would all pleas not guilty and it would take years before their trial.

All the court documents for Jake Lang can be found here:
https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/58955673/united-states-v-lang/

It appears much of the delay is because of motions by Lang and his attorneys. The government originally scheduled to turn over all materials to the defense in 2021 and was ready to go to trial at that time.

The court has held multiple hearings on a speedy trial. Lang has filed multiple times for extensions.
Upon consideration of the Defendant's 68 Unopposed Motion for Extension of Time to the Scheduling Order, it is ORDERED that the Motion is GRANTED.
Upon consideration of the Defendant's 72 Motion for Extension of Time to the Scheduling Order, it is ORDERED that the Motion is GRANTED.
Upon consideration of the Defendant's 74 Motion for Extension of Time, it is ORDERED that the Motion is GRANTED.

you apparently don't pay enough attention to the real world

I know there are more important reasons for plea bargaining than overcharging. Prosecutors could just overcharge for every defendant and get all guilty pleas. That obviously doesn't happen.

90% of criminal defendants plead guilty because the evidence against them is strong and they might a tougher sentence by going to trial.

Happens every day. You kill someone who attacks you and the state will charge you with murder. You're innocent but you can't take the chance of a rogue jury saying you're guilty so you accept a manslaughter plea and 5 years. It's not right but that's how it works.
