Pelosi's Comments On The Center/Mosque Critics

Pelosi said something to the effect of their is a coordinated effort to stop this center/mosque from being built and she wants to investigate who the money is behind these critics.

I thought the people against the location where either local New Yorkers or political opportunists. Pelosi has every right to be against the people who are against the center/mosque but to talk about investigating people who are doing nothing more than excersing their free speech seems to be kind of against what this debate is about.

how did such a local issue become a national issue - it is the slow news season and talking heads needed something to say

well no doubt but how is the speaker of the house trying to essentially frighten people into being quiet?

I think it is stunning that she is essentially calling for an investigation of Harry Reid and many other very prominent Democrats who have come out in opposition to the mosque!

I think she was probably making a reference to the fact that corporations are no longer required to report when they make massive political donations. The Democrats have been trying to make this into a political issue, with little success.

I think we the people should be greatly concerned about corporations on both sides deciding the vote these days or special interest groups for that matter. I think it is "we the people" who should be electing politicians, it is one reason we have such a spendaholic federal government! Big money!
 
I think everyone that cares about the mosque should be investigated. The people funding the Mosque and the people funding the protestors then the American people will have the truth and know everyone's motives.

The people building it seem to care about it too, and the people who think that it's "bad" to suggest a different site. Yeah, sounds good to me.
