People of color and other marginalized, low-income people will be most affected by an overturning of landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade, health and policy experts said after a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion was published by Politico Monday.

About half of U.S. states, concentrated in the South, Midwest and Plains, have restrictive abortion laws set to go into effect should the reversal take place. Experts say those who disproportionately have trouble accessing health care, often people of color, will be most impacted.

More than half of the nation’s Black population lives in the South, where women of color, including Hispanic women, make up a significant proportion. The Plains states also have a large Indigenous population. Days ago, the Oklahoma Legislature passed a six-week abortion ban similar to one adopted by Texas last year.

So Planned Parenthood will no longer be able to so easily continue to perpetrate its mass genocide against black people and its eugenics program against the poor? Boo fucking hoo.

are you saying blacks kill their children more than whites?.....besides being racist, I don't believe the statistics bear that out........

Blacks have far more abortions than Whites...

ANALYSISTRAGIC: Black women abort at almost four times the rate of white women

Maybe the Democrats and Left are reacting so badly to this Supreme Court leak because of their racism...?

you are mixing quantity and rate........most of the dead children were white, conceived by woman over the age of 20, with a college education with other children at home

What I said is true when you consider that only 12% or so of the US population is black. On sheer numbers, White women do outnumber that but that isn't per capita. You are applying the Law of Large Numbers inappropriately here.

Your link says Black women were substantially overrepresented among abortion patients. That makes sense when you remember the primary driver for wanting to end a pregnancy is economic. Women who lack the means to afford the birth, much less to raise a kid, are more likely to choose to end a pregnancy. And, of course, in the US, a much higher share of Black women are in poverty. According to your link 49% of those who have abortions are poor.

This actually suggests that if conservatives were interested in saving these fetuses, they likely to have more success not by simply driving the abortions to other states or into back alleys, but rather tackling poverty, so that more women are in a better position to actually choose to bring a pregnancy to term.

That doesn't follow. This case is effectively about criminalizing certain behavior in a number of states. If it turns Blacks into criminals at higher rates than whites, that would suggest it's the Right that is reacting so positively to the possible decision because of their racism.

That's an interesting take you must really support the targeted mass infanticide of black and brown babies.

Only if you think that mass murdering black and brown babies shouldn't be a crime.

Nobody is talking about babies here. We're talking about fetuses. You are welcome to assert that killing fetuses is also murder. For that matter, you can assert that killing sperm and eggs is murder, or that killing pigs and cattle is. But even if you think sperm are sacred and spermicide is mass murder, that doesn't make sperm babies, anymore than your desire to protect fetuses makes them babies.

rate versus number......correct your errors.....
