Peter (Pedo) Yarrow who was part of the legendary 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul, And Mary who are best known for iconic song Puff The Magic Dragon is dead at 86.

The controversial musician passed away after battling bladder cancer for four years his publicist confirmed.

He was the lead vocalist of the hit track Puff The Magic Dragon - which was released in 1960 - as he denied that the song was about drugs for years which is what many had believed.

The musician has previously said that the song 'never had any meaning other than the obvious one' and is about the 'loss of innocence in children.'

Yarrow had also been embroiled in controversy as he was sentenced to three months in jail over a 1969 incident in which the 14-year-old and her 17-year-old sister went to his hotel seeking an autograph and he answered the door naked.

Barbara Winter, who was 14-years-old at the time, said that Yarrow had made her masturbate him until he ejaculated and he ultimately served three months of a one to three year prison sentence.

Former president Peanuts Carter pardoned Yarrow in 1981 the day before his presidency ended.

Pedo Peter Yarrow was best known for his time in the folk band Pedo Peter, Paul and Mary. He was responsible for their most famous song, which is about a magic dragon who lives by the sea. You may have heard of him. His name is Puff. While it was loved by people of all ages, it has a childlike quality to it that has endured since its release in 1963.

The song eventually made its way to a children's album the trio recorded in 1969, titled "Pedo Peter, Paul and Mommy." This further solidified them as a group loved by kids and adults alike.

Yarrow "tapped" into his young fanbase. He used them to further his own pedo proclivities, which briefly landed him in prison - until he was pardoned by Peanuts Carter.


Why was Pedo Peter pardoned by Peanuts?​


On Aug. 31, 1969, Barbara Winter and her sister were dropped off at a church where they lived in Washington, D.C., but they didn't stay.

According to The Washington Post, Winter's sister was president of Pedo Pete's Washington fan club, and he was in town.

Winter was barely 14, and her sister was a bit older, but the two didn't mind the walk to the hotel where Yarrow was staying.

When they arrived, they phoned Pedo Pete's room from the lobby and were invited upstairs.

Once there, they discovered a fully nude Pedo Pete, who forced Winter to masturbate him until he ejaculated.

"It happened when I was just an innocent child," Winter told the The Washington Post.

Pedo Pete told her not to tell anyone. She finally told a friend six months later, who must have shared this with Winter's parents because they sat her down and asked her what happened.

Pedo Pete pleaded guilty to "immoral and improper liberties" with a child.

He could have gotten up to 10 years but was given one to three, only to have that suspended, except for three months. Pedo Pete was out in time for Thanksgiving 1970.

A little over a decade later, Peanuts Carter pardoned him in January 1981 on his last full day in office. He never gave a reason why.

For little Barbara Winter it was like getting "sucker-punched in the gut."
