Petraeus on Fox News

:D:D

NO HERE IS WHAT HE SAID:

MacCallum: (Ticking time bomb scenario)

Gen. Petraeus: ....T here might be an exception and that would require extraordinary but very rapid approval to deal with,

In other words exactly what transpired against the detainees that is was used on.

Funny how this general, according to the liberals, was a liar when his reports on the status of the Iraq War didn't fit their agenda. :)

Yet the missing part <ticking time bomb scenario> reads:

MACCALLUM: The argument for having the discussion now is there is always the possibility that a suspect could be in custody and an attack could be imminent.

PETRAEUS: Well I mean that’s always the debate — the doomsday scenario. I would be happy to leave that again with our judicial system to determine whether there might be an exception that would require extraordinary but very rapid approval to deal with.

But for the vast majority of the cases, our experience downrange, if you will, is that techniques that are in the army field manual that lays out how we treat detainees, how we interrogate them, those techniques work. That is our experience in this business.

"Leave it to our judicial system to determine...".

Not quite so cut-and-dried, is it?

kinda like how the right loved Colin Powell when he was shilling for Bush's stupid war in front of the UN...but now that he's not on the side of the OXYmoron and Cheney, you guys don't think he's so great anymore. Kinda like that???:pke:

Not at all, because Powell was a good Republican for many years in several administrations, then suddenly went sour with the Obama thing. I can only guess why. LOL

I wonder what this is going to do to the likes of people like Tutu.

I would expect nothing less of him, he is military.

And again, that does not translate to "Petraeus is against waterboarding".

"I think it's important to AGAIN live our values" His use of the word "AGAIN" is significant in that it shows his opinion of torture and of those that chose to disdain our country's values, in other words, the bush/Cheney Gang.
