In a jailhouse interview on Rikers Island, Robert Vineberg, a jazz musician and fellow junkie, denied selling Hoffman the drugs that killed him. Vineberg said he last saw Hoffman in October, when the actor was high at his Mott Street apartment, where police arrested him last week. He said he had known Hoffman for about a year and the pair were friends, getting together to talk about books and art. Hoffman was injecting 10 bags of heroin a day, Vineberg said. The 57-year-old was also battling addiction and said the pair tried to keep each other clean

Why didn't Hoffman seek out the help of responsible heroin users? That way he could remain in the fight for legalizing drugs.
 
He had 60 small cellophane bags of heroin in his apartment when he died. This news was available by the Monday after his death. It was obvious they were going to make a big deal out of this. When white heroin users OD, especially high profile users like Hoffman OD, they always find their dealer or some patsy who they can easily condemn. When Black heroin users OD, they just ship them to the morgue and forget about it.
