Political music

How many roads must a man walk down
Before they can call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
How many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind
How many years can a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea?
How many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
How many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
How many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
How many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind

with thanks to Peter, Paul and Mary for translating one of Dylan's songs into English.......

This could be for trump, instead of Nixon

I think I'll listen to this one a few times.

Political songs are cheap, easy, and risk-free in western liberal democracies.

These chicks were willing to go to prison rather than submit to Vladimir Putin and his authoritarian regime. That kind of fierce integrity is not found in the Republican Party, who meekly submitted to the Kremlin without firing a single shot.

I wouldn't say cheap and easy. Still takes effort to make a good song.

Yeah...... but their music is just soooooo bad.

I just wish this song was more celebratory in nature for the great heroic actions of our troops that day when they put those rock throwing hippy dipshit kids down :)

I'd argue Fight The Power is the ultimate hip hop political song but I think many would say this ranks up there as well

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead

But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
