She says, "we're storming the Capitol, it is a revolution", and she is upset that she was maced? In any other time and place, she would be summarily executed. She may still be executed. There is no sense of responsibility from her.
Her interview is evidence, sometimes I almost feel bad for them because they are so ignorant.
They really seem to believe announcing their own treason is just a game. There are lines where you are no longer playing a game.
Oh, the quandry:
At times I feel bad about myself because I actually "feel bad" for them...
and at other times I feel bad about myself for hoping they are sent to prison for as long as possible.
Right now, I hope as many as can be identified are give VERY long prison sentences for what they did. Prosecution should not be a big thing, Phantasmal. As you noted...they are identifying themselves and acknowledging their insurrection.

She has no idea she is confessing on television to a federal crime with a 10 year min man.
Elizabeth has likely never committed a crime in her life before this, a 6 week sentence should be enough to make sure she understands.
No, she needs a little longer than 6 weeks. This is serious stuff she allowed herself to be swept up in, people died.
I agree. We need to discourage this behavior, because some idiots intend to pull this again. If you participated in storming the capitol, they should throw the book at you. If you participated, you are now an accessory to the murder of a police officer. Maybe that charge won't stick, but we need to be talking about months or years, not weeks. Every one of them. Treason needs to be met forcefully.
I don't know, there is a big difference between following the crowd in, and leading the movement or organizing it, or encouraging it. Anyone with a prior should have the book thrown at them because they are not naive to how the criminal system works.
Elizabeth just took one step in. She seems un-intelligent and very simple, but the system needs to make sure she learns from this.

I think of all the other revolutions(good ones and bad ones) where people gave their lives for the revolution. Revolutions where no quarter was given. Then I look at how wimpy and entitled she is. She literally expected to be able to take over the country, and not to have anyone fight back.
On the escalating steps of violence, "I was shoved" is the unbelievably bottom step. How did they expect to survive an aerial bombing?

Thanks for making me laugh. I needed it. I just watched a video of scenes from the assault on the Capitol. It was chilling.
