Nat gas is safe... and it is by far the best viable option for a replacement of oil. Electric is nowhere close.

There is no one best. In Colorado or for large trucks or long distances CNG is likely preferable. In many instances electric would be ideal.
If algae oil ever becomes viable then diesel engines will make a lot of sense. The reality is that there is no magic bullet. We need to play all the hands we have.

The point of the article is that there hasn't been any significant warming over the past 10+ years despite CO2 levels continuing to increase. If you also note, it is a physics professor that wrote that opinion piece, not some schmuck off the street.
