Predictions for Tax/Spending Compromise

Rationalist

Hail Voltaire
While I'm not particularly great at predictions as of late, I'd venture to guess they'll extend everything as-is for a short period of time - 1 year or possibly only 6 months - in order to buy enough time to reach a compromise and avoid the fiscal cliff. I would be utterly flabbergasted if either side budges much over the next couple months.

Nope cons send us over the cliff. Thanks teabaggers!
We will end up with sig military cuts, higher taxes on the uber rich!
And a lot of republican asses kicked along the way. I hope

Apparently you haven't been watching. At this point, both sides seem willing to drive the nation over the cliff. Both are playing chicken. Now, obviously that is not going to happen, and some sort of compromise will be reached. The purpose of this thread is to discuss what that compromise might look like - not to spew your nonsensical, marijuana-induced drivel and groan my post for no apparent reason.

Seriously dude, you make less sense by the passing day.

Do your homework junior.
Acting like faux news at noon is not smart.
Obama ran on higher taxes and has his mandate.

Bullshit. Exit polling reveals that nobody wants taxes increase. Now, it is obvious to me that it has to happen - I'm okay with it - but don't lie about what the will of the majority.

The President won the election fair and square, and I will offer my words of support to him as much as possible. But he doesn't have a mandate. He is the first President to win fewer electoral votes than when he was first elected. He won 9 million fewer popular votes. Not a mandate.

At least you man up. Obama has the cards, the senate and looming serious cuts to military that will bother the right way more than the left if the house wants to go over the cliff.

The only reason he wants higher taxes; is because he has no job and how much can you tax the cardboard box, that he lives in. :chesh:

Off the Cliff!!!! Taken them DOWN!!! They set it up to obstruct now let them man up to take responsibility for their actions for once...take their asses down!! Obama has a mandate!!!

Obama was willing to compromise all along.

Dude, really? Your side lost so bad it isn't even funny, it is pathetic. Of course no one wants higher taxes, but contrary to your opinion, slightly more than half of the people understand that they need to be raised.
