According to Krueger, New York's values align more closely with Canada's political philosophy than Trump's

As tensions rise over President-elect Donald Trump's impending second term, a Democratic state senator from New York has suggested a drastic solution: secession. Liz Krueger, chair of the New York State Senate Finance Committee, has proposed that New York leave the United States and join Canada, arguing that Trump's policies threaten the state's progressive values and federal funding, according to Washington Examiner.

Well that would be a disaster for all involved... Except maybe Canada who would get the financial capitol of the world.

I guess Trump's idea was better, to make Canada the 51'st State. 😁🤣😂

I doubt Canada would agree, so it would require an invasion.

Beyond that, Canada is comprised of 10 federal states, which would mean they would be the 51st through 60th American states. They are far more liberal than we are, so that would mean 20 more Democratic caucusing Senators, and an extra 12% in the House. And it would make electing Republicans as President nearly impossible.

He's an idiot and doesn't know that this isn't 1860 when secession was an option.

Trump is also a fucking moron.

We fought a war over this...

I don't think they stand much of a chance with that plan, but never underestimate the Left's ability to fuck things up for everybody!

sound like a proposed insurrection.

it's clearly incitement to violence.
Well, I am against it, so do not want to spend too much time defending it.

But succession is not necessarily violent, nor a call for violence.

@The Trump Administration just seems to be repeating what I said.

Yes, NYC succeeding from the US and joining Canada would be a disaster for everyone, except maybe Canada that would get the financial capital of the world(NYC). I am against that happening, not because I have anything against Canada, but because I love America.

Yes, there have been plenty of cases where succession has not been violent. Czechoslovakia split with no violence. USSR split with almost no violence, but now we are seeing the violence. I am strongly against breaking America apart, but it is not necessarily violent.

@Damocles is this type of posting okay or is it considered trolling? Asking for a friend. :)

oh really.

but people at a capitol hill protest are terrorists.

you're full of shit.

this is why you people lost.

but people at a capitol hill protest are terrorists.
I strongly disagree with talking about secession, but admit it is freedom of speech. Had the terrorists on January 6th limited themselves to peaceful protests, as others did, they would also be covered under freedom of speech.

Do you see how that works?

I see my spelling lessons helped. No need to thank me.
