Hamas has carried out a mass execution in the streets of Gaza as part of a series of bloody reprisals following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from key urban areas.
Footage has emerged appearing to show around eight kneeling, blindfolded men, bearing signs of beatings, being shot dead in front of a crowd.
The Palestinian terror group, although still capable of inflicting casualties on the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), had largely been overwhelmed on the battlefield.
But since the IDF’s withdrawal from Gaza’s cities, under the framework of the Trump peace plan, Hamas has quickly reasserted its presence and is seeking to re-establish control.
Israel still retains control of 53 per cent of Gaza, having withdrawn from most of the urban areas. It is expected to leave the Strip entirely, apart from a perimeter security zone, once disarmament takes place.
