On Tuesday afternoon, Danielle with Apollo Support and Rescue for Abandoned Dogs, received a phone call from the Fort Worth, Texas Animal Care and Control about a puppy whose leg had been ripped off.

The rescue organization rushed to take this critically injured puppy to an emergency veterinarian.

Everyone who witnessed the injury was stunned by the extent of damage to this puppy's body.

The pup, now named "Greyson," had his leg completely severed from his body; bones, veins and tendons were left hanging from what was left of his injured shoulder.

The story provided by the puppy's owner indicates that Greyson was let out into the backyard when a dog from the neighboring property somehow got through the fence and ripped off his leg.

Greyson had surgery this morning to remove what was left of his leg.
 
so do I, desh. he's never going back to the owners that let this happen, the rescue is keeping him. he'll have a very safe home now and he's shown a very strong will.

the other dog got into their back yard.
They likely could NOT afford the guys medical needs.

he was surrendered, but the fort worth animal control doesn't do any medical stuff. there are many dog rescues that work with the animal control though and they called the rescue, who then handled the vet stuff.
