Casualty Rates For Putin's Troops Reach Staggering New High, UK Says​

The UK’s ministry of defence (MoD) said in its latest update on X (formerly Twitter) that 429,660 Russian army personnel were killed or wounded in 2024 during the conflict.

That’s approaching double the amount of casualties (252,940) recorded in 2023 by the Ukrainian General Staff reporting.

That means Russia is estimated to have suffered more than 790,000 casualties since the war began.

“December 2024 was likely the most costly month of the war for Russia with a total of 48,670 casualties reported by the Ukraine General Staff,” the MoD said – around 3,000 more than were recorded in November.

It added: “December was the sixth straight month that Russian Forces have suffered an increase in monthly total losses.”

With the malignant advance of NATO and the decimation of Pro-Russian Ukrainians of Eastern Ukraine Putin had few options.
Sure, he hoped that Kiev would collapse early. As it turns out now, it would have been better for everybody if it had. Except the US arms industry, of course.
How the US destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines has made Europe suffer. The Europeans won't forget.

I think Putin has convinced a lot of Russians that this is a war against the schemes of NATO, and Putin has gone to great lengths to protect the citizens of Moscow and Saint Peterburg from any inconvenience caused by the war. I think it's mostly Chechen mothers and mothers from rural and poor regions of Russia who have sacrificed their sons.
 
A major French intellectual just said according to Pepe Escobar on Judge Nap "Trumps main job will be to manage America's defeat vis-a-vis Russia".

It hard to imagine anyone less suited for that job than Trump.
 
Russia's casualties over this conflict are somewhere between 1/7 and 1/10 NATO's.....the Russians have been very careful to spend as few lives as possible.....which the Russian people generally appreciate.

Then people are beginning to see that their leaders are captured by Washington, and that America has actively set out to destroy Europe.......our blowing up of Nord stream is but a part of it.
 
I say generally because Putin gets more criticism for being too conservative and cautious than he does for standing up to Imperial Empire aggression or being aggressive militarily.

Look at how his popularity goes up over the last 20 some years when he does take action, when he does make a major show of standing up for Russia and Russians.

The that is Empire lies about casualty figures.....anyone who has paid the least bit attention knows that so called Ukrainian losses are many multiples of the Russian losses.

I've never said we should commit American troops to fight in a Ukrainian war.

On the other hand, you put on a cheerleader skirt, picked up some pom-poms, and cheered :cheer: for the invasion of Iraq from the safety of your house.
